What you will do:
The Package Operator works at the last stages of the cheese manufacturing line to pack finished products label and aggregate them for storage or shipment to distribution outlets.
Here's a day in the life:
Perform the packaging operation in accordance with product packaging specification, sorts products for packaging and filling machine operation, monitors production order fill rate and packaging line efficiencies, replenish packaging materials as needed, inspect in-process packaging to ensure consistent quality and remove defective products and packaging material in the process, segregate finished packaged items from machine that conform to specification and separate rejected items, conduct inventory court on finished and rejected packaged items, monitor packaging and filling operations to ensure quality and conformity of packaged products in accordance with standards.

Make adjustments to machines and equipment for smooth operations and make certain that the pre-op inspection is complete before start-up.

Skills you'll need:
Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or GED is required. Experience in packaging or other manufacturing operations is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
Communication effectively, acts as a team player, and interacts with staff at all levels of the company.
Computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word.
Demonstrate complete thorough knowledge about Tillamook products.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass a pre-work test. Must be able to work a varied shift including swing shift.

Part-time position hours range from 28 to 40 hours per week; wage is $12.41 as per union contract. Shift differential for swing and graveyard shifts.
