What you will do:

The Quality Supervisor supervises plant QA and Site Sanitation staff on all shifts. Responsible for day to day activities working with all departments to ensure safe quality foods are being produced. Responsible for site sanitation staff that clean and sanitize support areas and assist with departmental waste removal.

Here s a day in the life:

  • Supervision of plant QA and Site Sanitation personnel, including; scheduling, controlling overtime, monitoring attendance records, address performance issues, which may include disciplinary action and termination.

  • Provide continuous feedback, coaching, mentoring and timely effective discipline when necessary; evaluating, monitoring and providing regular feedback on employees performance reviews.

  • Assist with uniform and captive shoe programs as the main contact.

  • Ensure training of personnel is complete and up to date.

  • Able to inventory and order supplies as needed.

  • Provide guidance and leadership in situations where deviations have occurred or a potential risk has been identified related to food safety and/or quality attributes.

  • Oversight of Environmental Program.

  • Assist with maintaining the Non-Conforming material and equipment program.

  • Review Product Holds, place product on hold as needed and initiate communications with others as to status and disposition of hold product.

  • Review of all documents in ETQ (related to Food Safety and Quality).

  • Review trailer inspection records for possible issues with food safety or quality.

  • Responsible to write work instructions, develop forms and oversee red Zone for the department.

  • Assist with monthly duties such as KPI s, new hire orientation training, food safety training.

  • Ability to work with FDA and/or USDA rules and regulations, possess a thorough understanding of FDA and/or USDA inspected manufacturing facilities is required.

Skills you ll need:

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma is required; an Associate degree is Food Science or related field is preferred. A Bachelor s degree in Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field is a plus. Should have 4+ years of food processing experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment under USDA and/or FDA and familiar with HACCP ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Must be computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint. ERP system knowledge is required; NAV is a plus.

Must be a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.

Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision. Familiarity with Regulatory and PMO requirements if required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
