What you will do:
You will work alongside our experienced team members to provide excellent guest service to the one million guests that visit us annually. The Visitor Center Line Cook prepares and cooks meals with set standards. Keeps kitchen area neat and sanitary. Ensures quality and food safety standards are met.
Here's a day in the life:
Adhere to all recipes. Recipe book used 100%. Good knife skills. Time management essential. Record all waste.
Prep for breakfast and lunch. Transfer all prep food into clean containers. Proper dating and labeling is essential. Take back dirty containers to washroom.
Thermometer is used for every hot item or cooling process. Cooling chart used. Heating chart used.
Inspect all product prior to prepping. If product is of poor quality, notify a manager or shift lead. All produce gets washed.
Complete opening and closing procedures. Take temperatures. Notify lead/manager if temps are not in range.
Rotate and organize walk in, freezer and dry storage. Be able to put food orders away.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area. Sanitary solution changed hourly. Floor swept hourly. Prep counters cleaned with soap and water and then sanitized.
Restock cook refrigerator with properly rotated prep product.
Clean Prep area and walk-in. Wipe out all counters and sinks. Help keep walk-in refrigerator, freezer and dry storage neat, clean and organized. Sweep floor during shift
Assist with all catered events.
Assist line cooks when stocking is needed.
Skills you'll need:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience with commercial food preparation and equipment preferred.
Must obtain food handlers card within 30 days of hire.
Physical:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for entire shift

Seasonal position; wage is $12.46/hr (returning employees may be eligible for an increase in wages).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
